Materevolve, LLC was hired by Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemistry (ZDHC) to design and facilitate a field trip centered around fibre fragmentation in textile wastewater for the 2024 Textile Exchange conference in Pasadena, California. Working collaboratively and in partnership with The Microfibre Consoritum (TMC), Krystle Moody Wood and Carolynn Box led the development of a full day learning experience that featured:

-a custom tour of the Los Angeles-Glendale Wastewater Treatment plant providing an opportunity to compare best practices in fiber, chemical and bio-solid across munipical treatment and textile manufacturing

-a tour of The Moore Institute for Plastic Pollution to learn more about current test methodology and prevalance of microplastics/microfibers

-a custom educational program that highlighted both ZDHC and TMC initiatives centered around fibre fragementation and best practice development in textile wastewater and manufacturing

Attendees included representatives from Textile Exchange, TMC, ZDHC, Arcteryx, SHEIN Group, The North Face, Elevate Textiles, Parsons School of Design, Matter, Oxford Industries, Intrinsic Advanced Textiles, Norrona, Reju, and more.
