Krystle Moody Wood served as a principal investigator, along with Stephany Wilkes of West by MidWest and Hannah Mae Miller of Refonte Ventures, on a feasibility study centered around the development of a hybrid contract goat grazing and cashmere business for California- based Happy Goat farm. Feasibility study funded by Happy Goat & USDA Rural Development.

Services performed include:

-primary and secondary research in global and domestic cashmere production, sustainable cashmere certification, history of cashmere, and cashmere processing.

-conducting, transcribing and recording expert interviews (e.g. use of Otter AI).

-development of custom standard operating procedures for cashmere sorting and processing

-identification of downstream processors and facilitation of the development of wool/cashmere blended products (yarn, hats, fertilizer pellets) for Happy Goat

-site visits with client and in-person workshop development

-co-development of 3 year profitable business plan for hybrid cashmere and contract grazing business.
